The Nike Air Max 1 LHM was designed by Latin American street artist, Wasafu. The design of his Air Max 1 takes inspiration from nomads, particularly the Ona people of Patagonia, who for centuries have migrated from unforgiving conditions seeking opportunity and hope. He uses his artwork on the Air Max 1 to portray a powerful representation of their self-expression through ceremonial body paint. The design of the shoe consists of a White mesh upper paired up with University Red detailing on the Swoosh, tongue branding and mudguard. A Grey geometric print is placed on the overlays, White pinstripes on the Swoosh and mudguard and Wasafus signature on the heels complete the look of the shoe.Wasafus design focuses on migration, as an integral part of our culture for centuries: we migrate to opportunity and hope. This was the spirit of the Ona, also known as the Selknam indigenous people, of the Patagonian region of South America.
